Harvard WingTip Collection - Live at the Kansas City Art Institute
Details
Live at the Kansas City Art Institute This set from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1984 is the last live performance of Harvard WingTip Collection. Stephen and Charles do the usual swap of vocals and guitars, but this might be the most memorable lineup because of the other two members, Cinna Turnbull and Barry (what is his last name?). Barry’s drumming is tasteful and bombastic; he rests where he needs to and stampedes through when appropriate. As for Cinna, we will always have a soft spot for her. She was a good friend of the Yard Apes who just fit in with the Tips. She plays bass (“Joking”), recorder (“Guesswork”), and sax (“Driver’s Diary,” “Good Guy,” “Give Your Money”), and she contributes vocals. Most of all, in some ways she kept us grounded and sane. Parts of this performance are Stephen’s proudest moments as a Tip. [Mastered in 2017 by Scott Hull of Masterdisk off a digital transfer from cassette. No clue who recorded the KCAI show, but thank you. All songs Harvey/Seltzer.
